Everything you need to know about optical circulator and MTP trunk cable
The optical circulator is a specialized optical device which includes 3 or 4 port and it is designed in the type of entering light through any port and exists from the next. The main purpose of this fiber optical circulator is in order to separate the optical signals which travel in the opposite direction probably in the optical fiber.
Applications of optical circulators:
The
optical circulators have several applications in the optical communication
systems and optical circuits especially to redirect the bidirectional optical
signals into the various ports. They can also be realized using the
polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber splitters and also ant symmetric field
conversion. These isolators have the same principles except for the utilization
of 180 degree out of phase property in the couplers. Whenever you are
considering the basic optical circulators, they are usually 3 terminal device
where the first terminal is the input port, the second terminal is the output
port, and the reflected signal from the second terminal will be redirected to
the third terminal not to first one.
MTP Trunk cable:
- MTP trunk table is always in the single-mode and it consists of OM3 or OM4 multimode cables which are terminated with MTP or MPO connectors on both ends.
- Such mtp trunk cable devices are typically available in 72, 48, 24, or 12 fibers. These fibers are connected between two more connectors in 3 various methods named method A, method B, and method C.
- All these types of connectors will be in the single interface when it comes to the MTP trunk cable.
- These connectors are designed in this way in order to offer the high density connections between the equipments in the existing network.
